Translation: Hi this is Jennifer here with City Farmhouse Antiques and I just got back from an antiquing trip picking up a bunch of items and bringing them back to the shop and this is probably one of my favorites pieces if not my very favorite from my last trip.  This is actually a very, very old antique Limoges porcelain fish platter serving set from the 19th century. You can see the platter is about 24” long and every piece is signed.  These pieces are all painted by hand. The Victorians had a knack for making everything beautiful and wanted everything to be perfect so this is what you would call a fish platter set made just for serving fish.  This would be your big serving platter and then you would have a set of plates.  These are the plates that go with the set.  You can see that every one of the plates are hand signed and marked on the back made in France.  They are plated with gold gild and all hand painted separately.  Most sets have a gravy boat and this set is no exception.  Sometimes the under plate of the gravy boat will be a separate piece, but this beautiful piece has an attached under plate at the bottom.  When we turn this piece around you can see there is a signature there as well.  The colors are gorgeous on this set in a sea foam green and hot fuchsia pink accented in heavy gold gild. The set has minimal paint loss and no chipping.  It is just a beautiful exquisite set that is just so old. I just love it.  So this is our find of the week.  Be sure and like us on Facebook and check out our website where we have more than just antiques at www.cityfarmhouseantiques.com
