Harrison Juan Native American Folk Art Wood Carving. This unique piece is signed and features a Native American couple out on the ranch. The sunglasses on each figurine capture the reflection of horses which is a trademark of this artist. Harrison's goal as an artist is to bring the amusement of living on the reservation to life. Harrison grew up helping his uncle make unique wood carvings. Harrison would gather cottonwood pieces from the creek beds of the San Juan river for his uncle years before he learned how to make carvings himself. Born in New Mexico in 1953 Harrison has spent much of his life perfecting his pieces of Navajo folk art. Dimensions: 20"t x 9" x 6" Condition: Pre-owned, excellent overall condition, note imperfections in wood from age on busts of both pieces.
