Translation: Hi, this is Jennifer here with City Farmhouse Antiques with our Find of the Week and it is an Orient and Flume piece.  Those of you that are as crazy about art glass as I am will know exactly what this is.  Orient and Flume is a company that was started in 1972 by Douglas Boyd.  The company got its name from where it was located in between Flume Street and Orient Street in Chico California.  He purchased this carriage house which he turned into a glass studio which is still in Chico, California today.  Pieces typically come with a COA card bearing the registration information, the name of the piece, and the designer.  This piece was designed by Chris Storm.  When this company first started their focus was creating pieces after Loetz, and Tiffany in that beautiful iridescent color.  Then they went to making more natural looking pieces in clear cased glass.  I am going to take it out so you can see it better.  I’m sorry I always take the video in the same place, but it is easier to see the actual colors with the white background.  Here you can see this beautiful piece that is in the Storm Pattern.  It is called Storm Pattern for obvious reasons you can see the snow where there are white markings, the bare trees, and the snow at the bottom.  All the pieces are always numbered and signed there you can see on the bottom.  They are really substantial pieces of art glass and the colors are so vibrant on their pieces.  This is a teal as you can see, a beautiful vibrant teal color.  I like looking at the top of it you can see the clear cased glass and then where the teal color starts.  If you can just imagine doing all of this by hand.  They make some fabulous pieces.  That is our find of the week.
